Woman held with knife in her home as thieves steal newborn puppies

One woman has spoken of the terrifying moment she was held at knife threat in her own kitchen by thieves who stole five new puppies – and kicked their mother in the head.

Samantha Stewart, 25, was caught and threatened by thieves who took the litter of four-week-old English Bulldogs on Thursday.

The attack came after Samantha advertised the puppies on eBay for between £ 3,000 and £ 4,000 each.

Ms Stewart told BirminghamLive: ‘They kicked Polly in the head, it was horrible, it was horrible. I was shaking afterwards, I felt sick, I couldn’t sleep, “Ms Stewart, who owns pets with her boyfriend,

“I had them here because I’m alone with my daughter, I thought it would be nice for a bit of safety – and then it happened.”

Two thieves grabbed the puppies and ran into the garden where they handed them over the fence to a third offender, who put them in a bag.

The puppies were removed from Kings Norton’s home at around 10:20 a.m. after Samantha returned from dropping her daughter off at school to find intruders in her kitchen.

She said: “I came in, locked my door, walked through my house straight to the back door, opened the back door and the dog ran out into the backyard. the back.

“I came back for a coffee and saw something move out of the corner of my eye. Turning around, there were two geezers in my kitchen, with masks on.

“I shouted, ‘What are you doing in my house?’

“One was shouting, ‘Give me the puppies, shut up.’ He grabbed me, took the knife and yelled at me for my phone

“The knife wasn’t far from me, I kind of threw the phone away. I just wanted them to go, there was nothing else to take.”

The second “boy” stood there in silence, she said, before kicking the mother of the puppies.

“The dog’s crate was in the kitchen and he was just hunched over,” she added.

“The dog went to get the smaller boy, and as she was going after him he kicked her in the face, she just ran behind me.

“I was scared. I’ve never been in this situation in my life, ever.

“I thought it was only the two boys, but my neighbors came out and saw. The two boys in my yard were putting the puppies over the fence to the other boy who was putting them in the bag.

“They then ran down Druids Lane towards Walker’s Heath Park and ran to the top of the crease.”

“The dog is circling around, panting, she is devastated, she keeps whining, crying and snorting,” Ms. Stewart said.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ‘We are investigating the theft of five dogs during a robbery at a property in Shrewton Avenue, Birmingham, at 10:20 am on June 10.

“We understand that two men entered the property, before threatening a woman with a knife and picking up her phone, along with five bulldogs belonging to a friend.

“It is understandably a traumatic experience for the victim and the owner of the dogs.

“Our investigations are still in the early stages and we ask anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to contact us as soon as possible. Please quote crime number 20/1036621/21.”
