Wealden Council issues warning to pet owners ahead of Christmas
A warning has been issued by a tip to pet owners urging them to be careful when booking a cattery or kennel.
Wealden District Council is asking pet owners to check the pet license registry before making a reservation, especially around Christmas.
Only boarding schools for authorized animals are listed. Pet owners are cautioned not to use a business if they cannot see their contact details on this web page.
Each cattery, kennel and home boarder should have a license posted on their premises and their license number on their website.
If a business does not have a license, it can mean that its insurance is invalid.
Councilor Philip Lunn, portfolio holder of public health and community safety on the council, said, “Pet owners, be careful when booking a vacation for your beloved pet.
“Make sure the establishment is accredited and choose the highest number of stars. We want you and your pet to have a Merry Christmas. ”
