Patricia Gaved Taylor, 82, of Avon, North Carolina, died Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at her home where she enjoyed the peace of the ocean view for so many years.

Born in Chester, England on December 22, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Agnes Elizabeth Norris and the late John Leslie Gaved. In retirement, she enjoyed being a craftswoman and sharing stories at many craft shows on Hatteras Island. Patricia has established, owned and operated two boarding kennels; to this day still known as Hatteras Island Pet Resort.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Renato Tovar of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Patricia is survived by her two daughters, Andrea Brothers and her husband Eric of Avon, NC and Elizabeth LaRose and her husband Richard of Midlothian, VA; granddaughter, Senna LaRose and grandson Caleb Grandy-LaRose.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service at this time.

Patricia’s deep love for animals was evident in many ways. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Friends of Felines or Outer Banks SPCA.

The project includes masonry load-bearing walls supporting a standing seam metal roof on light gauge trusses housing administrative, living and support spaces as well as 6 appliance bays.
