RSPCA Column: Could you give Brian, Sabrina or Blade a home?
By Paul Gibson
It has been a busy couple of weeks here at the Animal Center with many adoptions underway.
We are very happy for all the cats and dogs who have already left us and those who will soon, wishing them all the best in their new family.
Don’t worry though, for anyone looking to adopt a cat or dog, we still have plenty of pets that need loving homes. In our cattery we have a lot of beautiful black cats at the moment; Unfortunately, black cats always take longer to be adopted than other cats.
The first little lady we have is Sabrina; at only seven months old, she needs a second chance at happiness. We have found Sabrina to be a very friendly, affectionate girl who craves human companionship.
We think she will be more suitable for a home with many homeowners, so she doesn’t feel lonely. She’ll gladly jump on your lap for lots of hugs and won’t let you go. Sabrina strives to be the only pet in the home and is fit to live with older children ages eight and up.
Another beautiful silky black cat that we have is Brian. He is a very good looking three year old boy, whom we have found very friendly with people and will greet you with a ‘meow’ before continuing with bumps to his head.
Brian has settled into cattery life well and spends most of his time inside his pod, but he is gaining confidence every day and spending more time outdoors and will now venture more outside. of his pod. Brian can be very vocal and aggressive with other cats, so a pet-free home is necessary, but he is fit to live with children aged 12 and up.
Finally we have the beautiful Blade, at four years old he is now ready for a new start. Blade is a confident and interactive boy who enjoys human company and affection.
He loves to play alone with toys, so he will always have fun if his owner is shopping or working. Blade loves all the attention he can get and we think he could be accommodated with kids 10 and up.
He is able to live with another calm cat or dog. He can be a picky eater but enjoys his wet food. He might be a bit shy at first and will take a few days to settle into a house, but once he finds his feet his true colors will shine.
