Heaton Park Food Festival back this summer

The Heaton Park Food Festival will return for its sixth year this summer to showcase a variety of internationally inspired and locally produced food and drink.

The festival, which was voted the UK’s first non-music festival of 2019, will take place at Heaton Park, Prestwich from Saturday August 20 to Sunday August 21 and will feature international cuisine, local producers, live music, entertainment and independent businesses. .

The food festival will celebrate diversity and global influence and will feature over 18 street food vendors, offering a wide selection of international cuisine including fresh paella, wood-fired pizzas, modern Chinese dishes, fiery Indian curries, Japanese, Lebanese, Thai and Greek-inspired gyozas, and much more.

The festival also features a craft market, hosting more than 60 businesses and independent producers.

A variety of sweet and savory treats will be offered, including cakes, brownies, cannoli and fudge, meat, bread, spices, cheese and pies.

Arts, crafts and creations will also join the market, with handmade soaps, candles, original artwork, plants and more.

Festival co-ordinator Hannah Dewhirst said: “We’re thrilled to join Heaton Park’s long list of festivals this summer and have so much in store for a foodie and fun weekend the whole family can enjoy. ”

Backed by an extensive program of attractions, artists and musicians from across Yorkshire will take to the stage for a line-up full of soul, blues, pop, jazz and rock, alongside family entertainment, magicians and street performances.

Promising to be a highlight for attendees, the Cookery Theater will host an incredible display of local professional chef skills with demonstrations taking place throughout the weekend.

The Heaton Park Food Festival will be supporting a variety of charities over the weekend, having already raised over £45,000 for Mind Charity at previous festivals.
