Burton’s ‘Sassy’ Cat Returned to Animal Shelter Needs a Forever Home

A “saucy” cat who had to return for the second time to an animal shelter is looking for new owners.

Tilly, the short-haired seven-year-old, has returned to RSPCA Hillfield House in Stretton following “a change in circumstances”.

Animal experts at the shelter say she is looking for a “very special” home and a “very understanding” owner, as she can be quite “saucy”.

However, despite her attitude, she has a special place in everyone’s heart and it takes a “special type of bond” to welcome Tilly into your home.

A spokesperson for the shelter said: “Tilly is looking for a very special home and someone who is very understanding as she can be quite sassy.

“We know that since she’s been out of the cattery and in her previous home, she can be quite a loving and sweet girl, however, due to the stress of the cattery, it’s rare that we see that side of her. , she is quite easy to work with and has shown a modicum of aggression when her boundaries and space are respected, always gently taking treats from our hands.

“However wise handling, Tilly really doesn’t like it and was very quick to show aggression when she attempted to pet. Although on occasion she appreciates a little affection, she does not does that on her own terms and so if she’s not in the mood she’ll be quick to let you know.

Tilly the cat

“Although this sassy lady can be difficult to deal with, she has taken a special place in the hearts of all who have worked with her, because it creates a special kind of bond to understand a cat like Tilly, one of whom, we know, can be further developed into the perfect home.

“It’s a must for Tilly to be a unique cat as this can trigger her grumpy side. Ideally she would benefit from a home with lots of land, a farm or smallholding where she can choose to be with or away from people. “
