Boarding schools and catteries in Notts go on sale with four separate beds – all for £ 650,000
The owners of a family kennel and cattery in Nottinghamshire are putting their business up for sale.
And that might just be a perfect purr for animal lovers who fancy running their own business.
With an increase in the number of pet owners during the pandemic and now travel from the UK reopening, this is a business that the sales agent says is fit for the time. In fact, business owners say they’ve had more demand than they can accommodate during the summer months.
Callum Pollard, Head of Customer Service at Blacks Business Brokers, said: “There has arguably never been a better time to invest in a business like this. With a huge pent-up demand for overseas vacations, all of these new locked up pets are going to need to be taken care of as travel restrictions are lifted and their owners make their way to the airport. “
The current owners of the business near Kirkby in Ashfield, David and Pamela Ibrahim, bought the business and the neighboring detached bungalow in 2015, but reveal that it has been an established business for over 50 years.
Now considering emigrating, the couple are considering selling the business, which provides 33 kennels and eight cattery spaces, as well as the residential premises on the site for £ 649,995.
Callum Pollard, said: âKirkby Kennels & Cattery has established a solid and loyal customer base for over half a century, and the inclusion of a large residential property in the sale means that a new owner would not only have a turnkey business, but also a new house or, possibly, the manager’s accommodation.
âThere is also room to expand the business, which currently has more demand than it can accommodate during the summer months. Considering the size of the plot, 30 more kennels could easily be added, and a concerted marketing campaign could further increase the demand-turn year. “
Annual turnover disclosed on sale details is £ 71,741.
In addition to boarding for dogs and cats, the company also takes care of small pets, including rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and reptiles.
Mr. and Mrs. Ibrahim are currently working in the company full time, supported by a member of staff.
The company operates from two buildings, which include a reception area and pet food and accessories store, as well as specially designed pet accommodation, located on one acre of land. The land also houses a detached four bedroom bungalow with double garage, which is included in the sale.
Blacks Business Brokers markets Kirkby Kennels & Cattery adjacent to Portland Park on the outskirts of Kirkby-in-Ashfield. The guide price of £ 649,995 will allow the new owners to take back full ownership of the business premises and the neighboring four-bedroom bungalow.
Interested purchases must mention the reference 6848 when requesting through the agent.
